I conducted an eight-month experiment. In mid-2025, I started uploading travel videos to VK Video. Laos, Thailand, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia—the videos were filmed in different countries and on different topics, but all related to the idea of travel.
I created a new channel group, uploaded videos to it, created covers, descriptions, links to related videos, hashtags—trying to do everything as strictly as possible according to the rules. Immediately after publishing, I reposted the videos to the channel wall and also reposted them to my personal account, which has 6,700 friends.
Which is better: starting with statistics or conclusions? Let's look at the statistics, it's more interesting!)

My conclusions on VK videos
As you can see, there was an increase in views up to the 10th video, and then a decline. This is because I began to lose interest in the experiment and publish fewer posts. The fact is that views on VK videos don't reflect the channel's development. I've seen bots subscribe and comment—accounts with strange names, missing photos, and blank walls. I think the views were driven entirely by bots. Yes, there were real people and comments from them, too. But as a percentage, they accounted for no more than 10%.
But that's just my feeling; let's put it in numbers. Let's just estimate the best video, which has 26,000 views, and compare it to the total number of subscribers. Even from this math, it follows that 0.34% of those who watched subscribe to the channel—that's three times less than 1%. And if you add up the views for all videos, which is more objective, and calculate the percentage of subscribers, it's another two to three times less.
Another important point is that views reached a certain point and then stopped completely. On YouTube, for example, even older videos are slowly gaining views—thanks to YouTube search. Apparently, no one uses the search function on VK videos.
Draw your own conclusions. In my opinion, views on VK videos are just pretty numbers these days, unfortunately. I don't see the point in wasting time uploading videos there right now.
