Hello!) Today I will share with you my experience of earning money while traveling. It is clear that each person has their own knowledge and skills, and accordingly, everyone will have different ways of earning money. The main thing to understand is that it is possible to travel and work for a long time!
I think the best thing is to be an entrepreneur, a remote business manager, a freelancer, or to have real estate for rent. You can also always find a regular job in a new city or a new country.
As you know, I have several professions - website creation and advertising, photography, and I occasionally conduct consultations and training. My employment is closest to freelancing. Part of my work is remote, part is offline with people. And I alternate. For example, in Kazakhstan I took the most photos. In both Aktau and Almaty I stayed for a long time, so I had time to promote my photo services, find clients and build partnerships. In Aktau, I wrote to all the local Telegram chats with a story about myself, and that's how my first clients appeared. Then I launched advertising on social networks and accidentally found a job at the Philharmonic with a flexible schedule. In Almaty, I wrote to all the modeling agencies with a story about myself - that's how I met two girls, organizers of photo days for children, and we worked together really well, also a great experience. After arriving in Southeast Asia, I shifted my focus to creating websites, because I no longer wanted to stay in one place for a long time and needed remote work. By the way, I tried advertising photo services in Bali, but nothing came of it, I needed more time. And you can't really experiment - every expense on advertising eats up money, and may not bring any results.
As for savings and inheritance - fortunately, I have neither, and I don't need it. While in Almaty, I paid off the loan, which gave me more freedom. In general, loans are very tempting, but they are a trap, which is a limitation of freedom for many people. So that you understand, when I left Bali, I had only $300, with which I set off to cross Asia and I crossed it!
In Laos, I tried volunteering for the first time - my photography skills came in handy again. It wasn't exactly a job, meaning I didn't earn money, but I also didn't spend much of it. At the same time, I made and continue to make websites to save money for the future.
Once I just found money on the road, yes, that happened too)) I hope it happens again!)))
And there was a time when I lent half of my last $100 to friends because they couldn't withdraw money from an ATM or get it in any other way. So I learned not to worry, even if you only have fifty dollars))
Several times kind people transferred me donations to support my work, for which I am sincerely grateful to them!
I meet people, we get to know each other, tell each other about ourselves, new friends appear, who recommend me to their friends, for which I am very grateful. Also, clients recommend me to their acquaintances and friends. Many follow me on social networks and also recommend my services.
Conclusion. I think the main thing is not your job or profession, but the desire to travel and the courage to start moving towards your goal. If I went back two years, I would not have been able to foresee 90% of the new opportunities that gradually opened up to me only when I was already in new places. You can work offline somewhere in a new place, be a freelancer or a remote worker, partner with colleagues from other countries, volunteer, couchsurf and much more. The main thing is to believe - no matter what happens, you have enough strength to sort it out. With such a worldview, everything will be fine with you, miracles will happen to you.
P.S.: I have a note with a list of life rules, I made it so as not to forget them. One of the rules says "If you have money to live today and tomorrow, then you are already doing well!"
By the way, I would like to dispel the myth about IT specialists and remote workers working in companies with a regular schedule - such work is not the best option for traveling. I have met people who - yes, it seems that they travel, but this impression is deceptive. If 5 days a week you need to sit at the computer for 8 hours, earn your time, then you do not have the main component of travel - freedom. In other words, you can live in a beautiful place, but at the same time spend half of your life on the Internet, performing work tasks. And I have met such people, work constantly interferes with them. Although, of course, in this situation, you can move to some warm country and just live there, which is also not bad.
Good luck, you will definitely sort everything out if you want!
